Glaze Fitness 8 Week Fitness Challenge:
Robin Sandusky

For the first time ever, I have been able to combine a workout regime with a sensible eating plan and gotten positive results. I have lost weight, toned up and have so much more energy. My clothes even fit better! I have learned that a healthy diet does not mean that I have to deprive myself, but making better choices, along with portion control, can make a difference.

This has been such a positive experience, and I am so thankful that Glaze Fitness is a gym where everyone, no matter what your previous gym experience has been, is welcome. Basically, winning the fitness challenge was one of the highlights of my life! My weight has been an issue for years, and to be finally given the right tools to begin a journey to a new, healthier person has been a godsend.

With gratefulness,
Robin Sandusky

Robin is a mother of 3, and entered the Glaze Fitness 8 Week Challenge hoping to make some changes in her life, and that’s exactly what she did. Robin accomplished above and beyond what her expectations had been. Her hard work and dedication to making a healthy lifestyle for herself definitely paid off! Robin lost a total of 19.5lbs overall, a total of 29lbs of just fat mass, while gaining almost 10 lbs of lean muscle mass. She decreased her body fat 10% in just 8 weeks!! Robins results were amazing and put Robin in 1st place for the Glaze Fitness 8 Week Fitness Challenge

Robin Today

Winning the fitness challenge in 2006 was a great beginning to the new life I have...50 pounds lighter. Being able to change the way I look at food, from dieting and denial, to moderation and just making better choices has been the best benefit of all. Additionally, in the past, a consistent exercise program seemed daunting and too difficult to fit into my schedule. However, I've made a choice to continue to improve and maintain my fitness by working out 3 times a week with Jake at Adventure Boot Camp for the past year. I get it done early, I feel healthier, stronger and more energetic---I am in better shape now than I have been since college. My family and friends notice a big difference in me and affirm me for it. This is an accomplishment that makes me feel great about myself every day.

Thanks for everything!!

I just want to thank you so much for everything you did to help me
complete my first marathon yesterday in 5 hours and 10 minutes. It
was an amazing experience and I couldn't have done it without your
training and all the support from Glaze Fitness. In the end, it all
came down to the time spent training and preparing for the actual day
from the stretching to the foam roller to the body work to the
strengthening. I used every one of those things to get me through the
26.2 miles.

ONE YEAR AGO I WAS 45 POUNDS HEAVIER AND COULD NOT RUN 1/4 OF A MILE
WITHOUT STOPPING OR HUFFING AND PUFFING!! I would never have run one
mile had it not been for the boot camp and the inspiration that gave
me to keep on running to my first half marathon in November and my
first full marathon yesterday.

Thanks so much...
Wendy Cohen

Adventure Boot Camp for Women:
Willy S: 530am Boot Camp for Women

ABC: I'm not sure where to start....I signed up for bootcamp September of 2006 and I've been a bootcamp member ever since. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be up before dawn, exercise in the cold and rain, look like hell, wear no make-up in public, and actually love it!

I know that you want to hear about the 50 pounds that were lost or better yet the 150 inches that melted away. Well, it didn't exactly happen that way for me. Don't get me wrong, I have seen many women come and go and they did lose inches and pounds and they did gain pride and self respect, strength and muscle. For me it has been much more than inches and pounds. It's been a long journey of learning and understanding about my body of 53 years. I have lost fat and I have gained muscle but much more than that I have discovered that it is so much more important to be healthy and fit than to worry about what the number on the scale might say. That's not to say that I will ever give up trying to be a thinner version of myself, it's just that I think I'm beginning to understand the importance of exercise and moving my body.

This will be the first New Year since I was a teenager that my resolution will not be about a magic number on the scale. My resolution is to be fit and strong and healthy and to be at bootcamp everyday of the week.

Thank you Jake for the self esteem that you've given me and for all those early morning work-outs....you are the best! I'd also like to thank that very special group of women that brave the elements at 5:30 every morning Monday through Friday, it is because of all of you that I will not give up and I will get out of bed before the sun.

Willy

Personal Training:
Cody Watkins

I have exercised for many years, mostly in classes. A few years ago, I had a gym membership but there were no early morning classes that interested me. I am an early morning person, and I like to get up and do it so that I have the rest of the day. I do not like to workout on equipment as I am not a self starter. I will quit before I have even done the reps. knowing this about myself I took a few sessions with Jake, and this was my answer!
I have been working out with him ever since. He does the counting and he changes my workouts constantly so I am never board. If I am hurting somewhere he amends the exercise to work around the soreness.
I am 81 years of age now, and most of my friends are using canes and walkers to get around. I have slowed down, but I have the muscle strength to lift my feet and walk correctly; most people my age just shuffle. Jake works on my balance so I won’t fall.
This has been my answer to physical fitness, and I always feel better once I get through a workout than I do when I first stumble in early in the morning.

Glaze Fitness 8 Week Fitness Challenge:
Richard Berry

I had never participated in any fitness training before, or have ever been on any diet, so this 8 week fitness challenge has all been a new experience for me. I have enjoyed the circuit training the most, as it has been the most challenging. You don’t have to think too much about what the workout consists of, you just have to get in there and do it. It’s a really great workout for someone like me who doesn’t know their way around the gym or how to use all of the equipment.
The personal assistance that I received was also very encouraging to a newbie like me. Even when I was working out on my own, doing the routine that was set up for me in the personal training sessions, I was able to ask questions about certain exercises, and was corrected in any form issues that I was performing incorrectly.
It has certainly been a great, healthy, change of life style for me. I was really ready to do this, and I am so thankful for everyone at Glaze Fitness who helped me along. I am thrilled of the results I have received over the last eight weeks! I feel better than I can ever remember feeling and I still want to take it to another level which I am looking forward to.

Sincerely yours,
Richard Berry

Richard started out the 8 Week Fitness Challenge 16.75lbs heavier than he is today! He has lost a total of 16.75 lbs overall, 13.3lbs just from body fat. He has decreased his body fat percentage 5% since the beginning of this challenge. Richard has had some awesome results, and is still actively pursuing his fitness goals and working hard on a daily basis. Richard won second place overall in the Glaze Fitness 8 Week Fitness Challenge!!
